Strictly Business Enlightment Darkness

Change site style mode

Hello and welcome. This is a small sample of my work in web, print and motion, but its "what I'm up to". For inquiries, project quotes, or more samples: please email me, thanks.

Though this was meant as a temporary page, I did have some fun setting it up, if you look above you can "re-skin" the site. Right now, you have three flavors: strictly business, darkness and enlightment. Enjoy my personal version of zengarden. :) Thanks Scott from Fire Fall Pro for showing me the beauty of good clean code. cheers.

Happy Holidaze

Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas, check out this interactive "Shawn-A-Sketch" with all the bells and whistles and have some fun. I have been thinking allot about childhood these past few months, especially since I have become a Dad twice over this year. I guess that's what inspired the Etch A Sketch theme for this year's card. I never want to lose that childlike wonder at creating something new. At struggling to learn and being indifferent to tools. Whether you are unwrapping your first Etch-A-Sketch as a child, or 8 core intel pro mac, the feeling is still the same and great design comes from that place. I miss the luxury of time children have...and this page is a statement about reconnecting with our earliest experiences with graphic design, an interface and the desire to be creative.

"Wilted" - A short film by Rafael Deleon Jr. My nephew is a talented filmaker. I created a promotional microsite for his latest project. "Wilted" is a story about a young man who introduces his homecoming date to his mother, a gravely ill woman with sinister intentions. This project took about three days to complete, including design concept to finished execution and launch. It uses light box effects for both still gallery and quicktime movie excerpt and utilizes the handy dandy "share this" widget for social networking.

TTmags.com The Best of Transport Topics Magazines

Presently I employed as the Graphics/Web designer for the Transport Topics Publishing Group which is the publishing arm of the American Trucking Association based out of Arlington Va., This promotional microsite is intended to increase the company's web presence and create a digital version of one of their tradeshow publications.

Every year, editors select the best articles from Transport Topics Publishing Group’s specialty publications — Equipment & Maintenance Update, iTECH and Light & Medium Truck. The result is the Best of Transport Topics Magazine, an annual publication that tracks the last year’s developments and trends in information technology, equipment and maintenance within the freight and utility fleet world. Equipment & Maintenance Update and iTECH are supplements to the weekly Transport Topics, while Light & Medium Truck is a free monthly magazine.

This project is an example of being able to do what I do best at my day gig. :)

Prade Films - The Work of Francisco Saco Very talented editor, writer and film maker presently working and creating in Berlin. His work is a bit diverse as of late. Music videos, short films, advertisements, and video art. So really, this should be a site that reaches out to a fairly wide selection of people, while still being able to maintain a certain air of selectivity and the aspects of a defined look and style. He wants a site that can engage with either a record label PR head, or a gallery owner, or a fashion designer looking to promote a new line. I’d like for it to reach the widest spectrum possible. Stay tuned...this will be good.

Cover Design - Light & Medium Truck, June 2009 Light & Medium Truck magazine is produced for corporate, maintenance and operations managers who manage and maintain fleets.

LMT covers the commercial truck marketplace with a broad editorial package written to help readers make sound business decisions. this paerticular issue covered the difference between emerging technologies to reduce emissions. Since these standards have an environmental impact, the editorial team thought it would be appropriate to feature grass and sky in the design.

Saint Michael's Truth Church St. Michael’s Truth Church and its ministries were initiated through a merger of two small Lutheran congregations in Prince George’s County, Maryland in the year 2000. Truth was a mission start that was organized with multiple staff by the Evangelical Outreach and Congregational Ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in 1996.

St. Michael’s Truth is a vibrant Church in Prince George’s County, Maryland and it continues to attract visitors as the congregation moves forward in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through its various ministries.

The Lenox - Luxury Apartments My friend Tom Tomaszewski at What Works Design asked me to develop this flash site for a real estate developer who wanted to promote their luxury condos in Harlem NYC. The site served two purposes: Promote the location to those interested in investing in this up and coming neighborhood restored to its former glory from the Harlem Renaissance and provide a human side by sharing profiles with friends and neighbors in the building. We achieved both goals :) check out the work at http://thelenoxnyc.com/
